Mask Policy

The community spread of COVID as well as influenza and RSV according to the CDC is moderate and climbing in Middlesex County. Because I can no longer ventilate the shop due to cold weather, for the sake of my customers and my own health I am requiring that shoppers wear masks again while they visit the store. I have new surgical masks available at the desk for those without them courtesy of the shop.

Heaven knows that I'm tired of it, we're all bone weary of it but I think that given the tiny size of my shop and the near impossibility of social distancing this is what I need to do for the remainder of the winter to be responsible to myself and my customers as a whole. That I have a younger brother that needed heroic measures in the ICU to save his life last fall and afterward symptoms of long COVID has had quite a lot of influence on my decision. Not that I need to explain but I am laying bare the process.
To avoid disappointment at the door I'll ask people that object to wearing a mask to please visit in the spring when weather permits adequate shop ventilation. Thank you for your understanding.

Expanded 50% Off Sale Rack!

My 50% off rack has doubled in size. Most of my vintage coats are now on the half off rack, many are below thrift store prices after the discount is taken. Time to move things out.

The shop will be open Fridays and Saturdays through the end of 2022 (including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve) from 11:30-4pm. For the months of January through March the shop will be open Saturdays only and anytime by appointment. I'll expand the shop hours again in April.

Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Coats and Holiday Bling is in!

I've added new stock for the season and will continue to add inventory as the racks loosen, much of which has never been offered for sale before. Some really great things coming. I still have one 50% off rack and the entire store is 20% off. Stay tuned.

My fall and early winter inventory was stocked in the shop today. Coats, holiday and heavier winter gear will be stocked in as I have space or by November whichever comes first.

Nostalgie will close.

 It's time.

Between COVID and other global forces like inflation, recessions that I don't have sufficient energy to withstand, it's time to sell out and move on to other items on my bucket list.

Accordingly: Everything in the shop is 20% off. I was withholding certain items like jewelry and antique/designer pieces from the sale for online sales but I'm ready to just let it all go, however it goes.

Starting in July there will be a few racks of items with steeper discounts. When winter items come in, the clock will reset to 20% off fr newly introduced inventory then progressive sales throughout the winter.

I will be renewing my lease for another 9 months to a year to get this process done.

I'll be open on Fridays and Saturday this summer/fall 11:30-4:30 to help accommodate this end.

Thanks.

Spring is trying to spring....

...and Nostalgie is 80% turned over to spring-summer wear. Yesterday I opened the last of my summer storage (with tons of forgotten awesomeness found) and I will be stocking those pieces into the shop and possibly Etsy as they are inspected, steamed or ironed through mid-July.

Monthly check-ins might be warranted April-July as I recently brought in an adorable 60/70s floral voile ruffled halter maxi dress and it sold to the first person to come into the shop that it would fit, a Shop Thrilling representative as it turns out. I expect more of the highly desirable or trendy items that aren't size tiny lasting maybe a few days/weeks after they are stocked in. Size tiny (though I do have customers in the 00/0 size range) are going to be put on Etsy to broaden my market for those harder to fit pieces.

I still have a mask requirement in place (underlying health issues) and the shop is open on Saturdays 11-5. I will revisit my mask requirement looking at the COVID numbers in CT (they look pretty good in our locality) as soon as I can reopen the shop windows and aggressively ventilate. So sorry for the inconvenience.

Reopening again on Saturdays in March.

Good news! The most recent COVID wave is moving past (finally) and the numbers are encouraging so I'll reopen on Saturdays once again starting the first weekend in March, same hours; 11-5.

I have had a number of shoppers calling looking for spring/summer occasion clothing and being done in my head with winter myself I've turned the ship early and now have a fair selection of spring clothing that I will be adding to in the next few weeks.

And of course I have my Etsy shop which I add to weekly.

Thanks for stopping by.
